The Dörr Wega 1000 refractor offers ambitious beginners and advanced hobby astronomers complete and comprehensive equipment for their astronomical observations. With its stable aluminum tripod and the equatorial EQ-2 mount, it ensures smooth and precise tracking in the sky. The 90 mm refractor and the length of 1000 mm enable a magnification of 40 to 332 times - so you can observe the rings of Saturn or Jupiter with its moons in detail. The included finder scope, the three high-quality eyepieces and the achromatic 2x Barlow lens offer you even more optical variety. And a suitable filter is also included for moon observation. The view through the 90° diagonal mirror makes observing even more comfortable. The Dörr Wega 1000 refractor is a reliable and loyal companion for anyone who wants to immerse themselves in the fascinating world of astronomy.

The telescope – the classic with lenses

The DÖRR WEGA 1000 is a refracting telescope - also known as a refractor. The light is collected by the lenses, focused and magnified by the eyepiece. This design is the classic. As early as 1609, Galileo Galilei presented the world's first telescope - a refractor. The optics have been continually improved to this day. The WEGA has very good optical performance. The long focal length of 1000 mm and the aperture of 90 mm make even very distant celestial bodies such as galaxies visible.

The tripod – stable and yet light

The telescope stands on an LT1 tripod with aluminum tripod legs. It combines high stability with low weight. A big advantage if you want to transport the telescope. The tripod legs are infinitely adjustable in height. This ensures comfortable observation in an upright position - regardless of body size. There is a storage plate between the tripod legs. This is very helpful for placing eyepieces and other accessories on during observations.

The EQ-2 Mount – For Alignment and Tracking

The equatorial mount EQ-2 enables the alignment of the telescope and the precise tracking of celestial objects. The axes are aligned with the earth's axis. This means that only one axis needs to be moved to compensate for the earth's arc-shaped rotation. An exact tracking of the celestial bodies to be observed can be achieved evenly. The observation object always remains in the center of the field of view. That's why the EQ-2 mount is also well suited for high magnifications. The movement of the two axes and the tracking are carried out manually using rotary knobs for fine movement, each of which is attached to a flexible shaft. The movable counterweight and the two tube clamps, which allow the telescope to be positioned precisely on the mount, keep the telescope in optimal balance.

Setup and operation – quick, easy and convenient

The components of the telescope are manufactured in such a way that they can be set up quite easily and quickly. Operating the telescope is also easy. While you track the objects under observation with just one rotary knob, the focus can be precisely adjusted using two rotary wheels. The control knob for tracking sits on a flexible shaft and can be moved to exactly the position that ensures comfortable operation for every body size. Once it has been set up and aligned, nothing stands in the way of extensive journeys of discovery in the night sky.

The finder telescope 6 x 30 - Find celestial bodies quickly

The finder telescope is placed parallel to the telescope tube and - after a one-time adjustment - allows you to quickly find the celestial objects you want to observe. A finder scope is necessary because the viewing angle of telescopes is so small due to the high magnification that it is not possible to quickly find celestial objects. The finder scope of the WEGA 1000 captures a large area of the sky thanks to its low magnification of 6x, making it easier to quickly align the telescope to the desired object. The large opening of the finder scope of 30 mm ensures a high light intensity for even better orientation.

Fully coated eyepieces – optics for good vision

The eyepieces are part of the optical system. They are attached to the telescope and allow viewing. The eyepiece used affects the magnification of the telescope. 3 eyepieces are included with the WEGA telescope. They are equipped with a standardized 1.25" plug diameter: PL6.3 four-lens eyepiece with 6.3 mm focal length in Plössl design for a magnification of 159x; PL10 four-lens eyepiece with 10 mm focal length in Plössl design for a magnification of 100x; PL25 four-lens eyepiece with 25 mm focal length in Plössl design for a magnification of 40x. The fully coated (FC) lenses enable improved light transmission for the brightest possible image. This also reduces reflections.

Achromatic Barlow lens – magnification + photo port

The DÖRR WEGA 1000 comes with an achromatic 2x Barlow lens. It is mounted between the telescope and eyepiece and doubles the magnification. This results in the following magnifications with the Barlow lens attached: PL6.3 magnification 318x; PL10 magnification 200x; PL25 magnification 80x. The recommended maximum magnification for the DÖRR WEGA 1000 is 180x. Although higher magnifications are technically possible, they no longer lead to sharp observation results. The air unrest in our earth's atmosphere is primarily responsible for this. The achromatic Barlow lens is equipped with a T2 connection thread. This allows the connection of all common SLR and system cameras for astrophotography using the appropriate T2 adapter (optionally available from DÖRR). To do this, the Barlow lens is inserted into the telescope instead of an eyepiece and connected to the camera. This significantly reduces optical imaging errors.

90° diagonal mirror - for a comfortable view

Every telescope produces a reversed and upside down image. The diagonal mirror is inserted between the telescope and the eyepiece. The upside down image is corrected and put back up again. The diagonal mirror also redirects the image by 90°, allowing for a more pleasant view from above.

Moon Filter – For glare-free moon views

The moon is illuminated by the sun. When the moon is full it looks uncomfortably bright when looking through the eyepiece. The included moon filter is screwed into the back of the eyepiece and darkens the field of view neutrally. This basically looks like sunglasses. This means that even longer observations of the full moon are pleasant and possible without being blinding. It is also recommended to use the moon filter when observing Venus to reduce the dazzling light.

- NEVER look directly at the sun or near the sun through the telescope or viewfinder! There is a risk of blindness! - The telescope is not a toy! Children must not use the telescope without adult supervision.
