During the day, you can use the ZB-500 PVE to observe nature like you would with classic binoculars. With a fantastic visibility of up to 500 meters, you can experience nature in unique color images in the large LCD viewfinder. Thanks to the 6x optical magnification and the 3x digital zoom, you can see even more exciting details.

Digital night vision device with IR illumination

At dusk and at night, the ZB-500 PVE serves as a compact, binocular night vision device. You simply switch on the infrared lighting at the push of a button and you can see your surroundings up to a distance of 200 meters. The image reproduction changes to a high-contrast black and white or grayscale display at night. The brightness of the infrared LEDs can be increased or reduced in 7 levels.

Electronic rangefinders

The integrated electronic rangefinder measures the distance to the targeted object at the push of a button and shows this on the LCD display in either meters or yards. The measuring range is between 1 meter and extends to approx. 200 meters. The distance measurement also works in photo and video mode. If desired, the measurement result will be displayed on your recordings.

Extra large viewfinder

The ZB-500 PVE is equipped with a 3-inch, 16:9 HD color screen with a resolution of 360 x 640 pixels. This electronic viewfinder delivers razor-sharp color images during the day and high-contrast black and white images at night. The LCD display also provides information about the current battery status, the number of saved photos or videos, distance measurement results and your selected brightness and infrared settings. For optimal visibility and eye-friendly observation, the brightness of the screen can be adjusted in 8 levels. The large, soft rubber eyecup with a recess for the nose fits perfectly around your eyes and face and prevents unwanted light from reaching the LCD display.

Photo and video recordings with sound

Thanks to the sensitive 2 megapixel image sensor, you can take high-resolution photos and videos in Full HD quality. The microphone integrated into the bottom of the housing records the sound of your videos. You can choose whether you want a timestamp (date and time) to appear on your recordings or whether you want to deactivate this function.

Playback function

You have the option of viewing or playing back the photos and videos you have taken directly on the LCD display of the ZB-500 PVE. Recordings that are not required can be deleted immediately to free up storage space.

Rubberized housing with tripod connection

The robust ABS housing is covered with a spray rubber coating. This rubberized coating ensures optimal grip even in difficult weather conditions and protects the device from moisture such as fog and dew. In order to have both hands free during your observations, the ZB-500 PVE can be mounted on a tripod using the integrated ¼” connection (suitable tripods are optionally available from DÖRR). Using a tripod allows you to observe and record objects over longer periods of time without blurring.

Powerful Li-ion batteries

Power is supplied by powerful, pre-installed Li-ion batteries, which can be recharged again and again using the included USB charging cable. The two 3.7 V batteries, each with 3200 mAh, enable an operating time of approx. 10 hours during the day and up to approx. 6 hours at night with activated infrared lighting. If the batteries have reached the end of their life, they can easily be replaced.
